An important message for our Adaptive Sports & Fitness community:

Oak Hill would like to thank you for your continued loyalty and patronage of our Adaptive Sports and Fitness program. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve you and aid your health and wellbeing needs.

We are posting this memo with some news of change within our agency. We see this change as necessary and providing an opportunity to reach more individuals with disabilities. The pandemic has given us incredible insight into the delivery of services and the accessibility of these services to individuals who cannot travel to a specific location.

Therefore, we will be moving our adaptive sports and fitness services to a hybrid model of virtual and “on the road” services.  This will allow our fitness team to come to individuals in a community setting or through personal, online networks.

Oak Hill’s Adaptive Sports and Fitness will no longer have gym memberships or “open” gym services. The bricks and mortar location (33 Coventry St. Hartford, CT) will close to the public for gym services on Friday, May 7, 2021. It is important to note we will still be accepting donations of and selling gently used durable medical equipment at this location.

  • If you currently have a gym membership, we can certainly place a refund to your account based on the date of gym membership closure. Or we can work with you on scheduling virtual personal training sessions to replace your membership dues over the next few weeks.

We recognize that this may be a difficult change, but we are incredibly enthusiastic about growing our virtual and “on the road” services throughout the state. We hope that you will continue with our virtual personal training services and online fitness classes. Additionally, we hope that you will look forward to the growth of our “on the road” fitness services.

The Adaptive Sports and Fitness team is comprised of incredibly talented individuals and we are grateful for their dedication, passion and hard work. The workout environment created by their warmth and skills have allowed many of you to meet your health and fitness goals.  We truly appreciate their diligence and commitment over the years. And we especially value your support, as we again, face new challenges and changes. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Nicole Feeney
